Tessie Hicks Schleper

	Tessie Hicks Schleper, 96, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
	Tessie R. Hicks Schleper was born in Thompsonville on July 28, 1907 to Commodore Hicks and Ida May Doolin.  She married Godfrey J. Schleper on August 8, 1935 in Du Quoin and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1999.  
	She was a beautician for La Belle Beauty Shoppe for 17 years in Du Quoin.  Mrs. Schleper was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of Sacred Heart P.T.A.
	Surviving are daughters, Janet (H. Bryant) Austin of Siloam Springs, Ark. and Agnes (John) Molloy of Wesbury, N.Y.; grandchildren, Beth (John) Schmidt of Glenview, Will (Annette) Austin of Indianapolis, Ind., Craig Austin of Austin, Tex., John (Sue) Molloy of Ridgewood, N.J., Kevin (Sheila) Molloy of Darien, Conn., Christopher (Tara) Molloy of Bronxville, N.Y., Kathleen, Colleen and Michael Molloy of Westbury, Long Island, N.Y. and great-grandchildren, Eric and Kevin Schmidt, Caroline Molloy, John Collin Molloy and Faith Austin.
	Mrs. Schleper was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ramos Hicks, George Neal and Omer Hicks and four sisters, Griffie Hall Davis, Eva Poiter, Jenny Neal and Sula Hicks.
	Funeral mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Rev. Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.  Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
	Friends called after 6 p.m. Friday at Maxton Funeral Chapel in Du Quoin.
	Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart School.
